The Gotherington Singers

We are a friendly and committed choir of women’s voices from Cheltenham, always ready to welcome new members.

The Gotherington Singers have built a growing reputation for themselves since they were formed 1967 by Margaret Crompton who is still their Director of Music. Starting as a small local choir in the village of Gotherington, they now have singers from a wide area in and around Cheltenham.

Whilst the major emphasis of the choir is to make beautiful music with a varied (and regularly updated) repertoire, it is positively linked to raising funds for a wide range of charities.

The choir is justifiably proud of the family atmosphere it has created throughout its life and development, with mutual support for members though good and bad times.

We are very responsive to the frequent requests to sing at weddings, funerals and special occasions.

“I don’t sing because I’m happy, I’m happy because I sing”

 William James 1842-1910
