Director of Music
MARGARET CROMPTON is the founder and Musical Director of the Gotherington Singers and also of the Newhurst Singers whom she trains and accompanies. She is a graduate of the Royal Manchester College of Music and taught for a number of years in a range of schools.
In 1999 she received two awards from Cheltenham Arts Council in recognition of her contribution to musical activities in the area, and a similar award in 2008 which also made reference to her work as founder and principal conductor of the choir throughout 40 years.
She is on the Committee of the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts and is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors.
