Gotherington Singers Spring 2012 Concert at St Peter's Church, Leckhampton
Saturday, 21 April 2012

Gotherington Singers Spring Concert at St Peter's Church, Leckhampton was yet another success for the choir, and included a varied mix of solos, duets and trios as well as the songs from the choir. Compere for the evening was John Qualtrough, who informed and entertained the audience with his introductions, and also sang some wonderful solos.

The concert began with "Anything Goes" from the choir, and this set the tone for the whole evening, which continued with items old and new, serious and fun. In particular, the audience were very moved by the choir's singing of "Wherever You Are", the song made famous by Gareth Malone and the Military Wives. All royalties from this go to Help for Heroes.

Guest instrumentalists were Lesley Crompton on the clarinet, and choir member Sarah Malcolm on the flute, and the audience particularly enjoyed "Lo! Here the gentle lark", accompanied by Margaret Crompton.

Proceeds from the evening go to St Peter's Church organ fund appeal.
