Retirement Tea Party for Margaret Crompton

Margaret Crompton and Gwyn Arch at her retirement tea party
Sunday, 28 June 2015

The party was at Eckington Manor, which was a beautiful and inspired venue, and despite a rainy morning the weather cleared by 3 o’clock and we had bright sunshine. Present and former choir members were there as well as Margaret's family, and we were served with delicious cakes and sandwiches! John Qualtrough proposed the toast to Margaret with some wonderfully warm words thanking her for her dedication and inspiration over the past 48 years, and we presented her with a rose named after her - the Margaret Crompton rose. We also gave her a Memory Book about her 48 years with the choir. We were delighted that Gwyn Arch, our patron, was also able to be with us.
