35th Rotary Christmas Concert

Tuesday, 18 December 2012 - 7:30pm

We all enjoyed a fantastic concert at the Princess Hall, Cheltenham Ladies College. It was a truly memorable evening, compered by Nicholas Parsons, and featuring The Gloucestershire Police Choir, Leckhampton Junior School choirs, Lawrence Kilby (BBC choirboy of the year), and ourselves, the Gotherington Singers. There was wonderful singing from everyone concerned - a truly memorable Christmas celebration, which had performers and audience alike feeling that Christmas had really arrived! All money raised was shared between LINC and the Retinitis Pigmentosa Society.

Christmas Cheer with the Gotherington Singers

Saturday, 8 December 2012

The church was full for our Christmas concert at St Andrews, and the evening was thoroughly enjoyable for all concerned. Jemina Phillips' harp playing was magical, and the evening was entertainingly compered by John Qualtrough in a variety of hats. The choir sang a collection of carols both old and new, and the audience also had some carols to sing. Afterwards we all enjoyed wine and mince pies, and everyone went home feeling that Christmas had really begun.

Launch of Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts 2013

Thursday, 8 November 2012

Thursday 8th December saw us singing at Pittville School, at the concert to launch the 2013 Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.

We opened the concert with three songs, and the programme then went on to showcase many talented youngsters, who entertained us with dance, drama, poetry, music and theatre.

The Festival takes place every year in May, and is the oldest of all the Cheltenham festivals. A lot of money needs to be raised each year to keep this festival going.

We all returned home refreshed and inspired after a weekend of laughter and wonderful music making.
