Gotherington Singers at St Andrews April 2011

April Concert Delights Audience

Monday, 11 April 2011

The warm sunny evening on Saturday was perfect for the choir's "Songs for an April Evening" at St Andrew's Church. We were pleased to be able to support their Development Appeal - the church is a lovely venue for concerts, and visitors are always made to feel very welcome. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the varied programme of songs old and new, with vocal solos from various choir members, and two beautiful flute solos from choir member Sarah Malcolm. The concert raised £700 for the Appeal. The choir are pictured here wearing their new summer uniform.

Midlands Air Ambulance Presentation

Wednesday, 16 February 2011

On Wednesday 16th February a few choir members visited Strensham, one of the bases of the Midlands Air Ambulance, and presented them with a cheque for just under £1,000. This money had been raised at our Christmas concert, and we were pleased to meet some of the staff and have a look at the helicopter itself. The helicopter had just flown in from an emergency as we arrived, so we were lucky to be able to see it before it had to take off again.

Merry Christmas with the Gotherington Singers

Saturday, 11 December 2010 - 7:30pm

Our Christmas Concert this year was a sell out. Many of our audience come every year, and tell us that it is the Gotherington Singers concert that marks the real start of Christmas for them. This year was no exception, and the audience enjoyed a wonderful evening of music and song. Guest soloist Tomoya Forster thrilled everyone with his breathtaking saxophone playing, and the choir entertained with carols and Christmas songs both old and new. From the Mediaeval "Gaudete" at the start to the party song "Christmas Fare" at the end, a fabulous evening was enjoyed by all.
